OVERALL

I read 2.5 books and I really liked them!!! I enjoyed creating a blog and had fun updating it. My total time was 29 hrs!

THEME

The theme of my book series is TRUTH.  There is a person out to get the girls, and the girls don't know why he is after them or what to do to get him to stop.  However, if the girls would be honest with each other, they would be able to piece together all the facts and be able to figure out this mystery.

PASSAGE

My book series can relate to many passages.  The girls in the series keep making the same stupid mistakes over and over again. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."  This passage is a perfect fit for anything. If you believe in Jesus, you will be forgiven, and you will have eternal life.

Progress

I am not reading as much as I had hoped. :( I wa hoping to get forty hours and I am only at about 23 hours.  However I am Enjoying the books I am reading!

So I went through "book nerds" blog and I found it very interesting.  I read a review on the book "The Sweetness of Salt " and I thought it seemed like a good book.  It was rated 4.5 out of 5.

Im not sure what the post is supposed to be about his week but I am just going to post a summary.  I have finished the first two books of the Pretty Little Liars Series.
         - Spencer has stolen her older sisters boyfried
         - Aria is dating her English teacher
         - Hannah is so worried about her figure that she is becoming "sick"
         - Emily likes girls but her mom wont accept that she is "different"

TOTAL TIME= 21 HOURS

UPDATE

My book is filled with drama.  The girls' stalker is continually getting creepier and creepier.  The girls have no idea who it is or how to get to the bottom of it. This book series constatly holds me in suspense, I never want to put it down!

My book most relates to the song "I kissed a girl" because the girl that was murdered had a "thing" with one of her best friends!

MY AIRPLANE READING ADVENTURE

Over break I read 2 hours of Seventeen Magazine and 3 hours of the Pretty Little Liars series.  In Seventeen Magazine I learned about the latest fashions! In pretty little liars I read about the new drama of Ali's murder.  I'm not exactly sure what else I'm supposed to write..... so yea! I hope this makes the cut!!! Also I titled it "airplane reading adventure" becausse I did most of the reading on my flight to/from Washington D.C.

Library

The last time I was at the library, was during the summer, when I  took my brother to pick up books that he wanted.  I find the library kind of awkward and boring, it isn't really my "cup of soup". Anyways,(thats for you Mr. Strusz!!) in my reading challenge, I have just started my second book, in the pretty little liars series.  I would reccomend these books to all, however girls would probably enjoy them more than boys.  I have also read 2.5 hours of seventeen magazine.

TOTAL TIME: 10 hours

The book that I'm reading right now relates to life in a strange, but realistic way.  There were five girls who were best friends, but when one friend goes missing (Allison), the whole friendship falls apart!  But now the police found the Allison's body, and now the other four are friends again! Thats crazy!  However, there is a mysterious person sending texts about all the girls' secrets that ONLY ALLISON KNEW ABOUT! At the end of the first book when the girls are at Allison's funeral a they all got a text and it said :
       "I'm still here witchs and I know everything. "

What I have learned from the book series so far is that you never know who you can trust, and some secrets are better off when you don't tell anyone.

Goals

My goals during the independent reading challenge are :
     -read three of the "pretty little liars" book series (each are about 350 pages long)
     -beat Mr. Strusz!!!!!!!
     -become more involved in books now and in the future (I haven't read a book in years... besides the ones we read in class)

February 23rd

This weekend I read Pretty Little Liars for an hour.  I learned about the character of each of the four girls.  They all have very different interests, hobbies, and styles, BUT the one thing they all have in common is one of their friends has been missing for about two years now.
